The annual Beer Swap is continuing its tradition again this year!!! Also, as with last year, there will be some wine tasting as well.

Make sure you bring some local brews and wines for trade!!!

This was one reason I decided to stay at Fontana Village and one more night this year, went last year but could not drink because I had to get back to since we have to get up early to make the 8 hundred mile trip.

Once again I've been a bit lazy on the forum... Yet again the MATG Beer Guy will be there with my usual accoutrement of fine ales and lagers for consumption and trading. More details on the selection to come. As always, any requests or recommendations are encouraged, just post them in this thread.

James,

I am in Jacksonville now. Are there any micro brews not available up your way that I should try to pick up?

See you next weekend!

Oh hey! If you can find any Cigar City Brewing Company stuff that'd be pretty cool. They're from Tampa, Florida and not available here. One that I'd love to get my hands on is the Jai Alai IPA. As you can see by the review page, it's pretty darn good. Thanks man!

Just a quick post about possible weather affecting the beer swap... I've been following the extended forecast (as I'm sure most of you have been) and noticed a 50% chance of rain for Saturday evening. Last year was the same way, and we didn't get a single bit of rain. However, I had made plans for a "rain location" in the event it did get wet. The folks at Fontana Village were kind enough to give me the OK to use the General Store front porch for this purpose. I'm going to ask again this year (never assume anything) to make sure we can still use it. Information about this will be posted on the Event Board at the Vendor's Area as soon as I get the OK from Fontana. In the meantime, keep your fingers crossed that we don't have to worry about this stuff at all. The Beer Swap and Wine Tasting WILL go on no matter what! :D

I was doing a little beer shopping for the trip last night and picked up a sixer of Jai Alai IPA for you!

The wheels are turning on a possible "rain location" at Fontana for the beer swap... Arrangements are being made to possibly have the opportunity to maybe use the Wildwood Grille Banquet Hall for the rain location. Nothing definite yet, but it sounds like it could happen. In the event that weather does move the beer swap, there will be signs posted at the vendor's area instructing you where to go to enjoy all this wonderful beer that I and others are going to be bringing! Stay tuned to the MATG Events Board for further details.

:dragon: for James :applaud:

The beer swap was a great time yet again, and I know I had way too much but we shut the tent down.

Somehow, I seemed to end up with several beers in my trunk that I didn't remember picking up... it's as if the magic Beer Fairy left them there as a gift :)

Anyway, this is the party I look forward to all year long, and now the wait begins for next year. So thanks again, James for another great Beer Swap (and everyone else who helped/brought beer and wine).

Thank you to all that attended this year's Beer Swap and Wine Tasting! Once again we traded, poured and sampled some of the best ales and lagers around! It was my pleasure to pour the samples and talk all things beer with everyone. I'm already looking forward to next year's swap. Glad you all had fun!
