Potential problem?

So is it going to be an issue if the guy that runs the website for MIATAS at the Gap doesn't even own or drive a Miata anymore?

Image

I picked up an 88 RX7 Convertible. 64k original miles. Garage kept, never driven in the rain (changed that already, drove it in the snow too! ) Completely and totally stock, including paint and body work.

The Chief Instigator doesn't own one anymore either.

No problem. Just change your screen name to "Butterfly" cause you keep flitting from car to car. :P :P

You did what?!? As long as you pull out that quirky 13B and replace it with a BPT-I4 I guess you could still be ok...

Seriously though, nice find and I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Also... is that some kind of funky targa style convertible top? In your 2nd picture it appears as such...

Yeah, the center section of the convertible top is hard and removable. You can run the car as a convertible or a targa. It fits nicely on the trunk floor and takes up minimal space. Which is a good thing, as its trunk is smaller than a Miata trunk. At least the rear window is glass and has a defroster.

It's a Mazda, and has no roof. Close enough for me.

Besides, you'll be moving onto something else in a couple of months. You always do.

Nice ride, Congrats.

Actually Dan, my goal all along was to start off with something inexpensive and fix it up and turn a profit so I could afford to buy a nice car to keep and not have a payment. This one is a real creampuff with low miles, and I'd really like to hang on to it.

Then again, I didn't plan on selling the last Miata. Here's how the discussion went:
Hey Josh, know anyone with a Miata for sale?
Me: Nope, sorry, not right now.
Would you be willing to sell yours?
Me: This one is just a driver. I've only had it a couple months.
Well, put a price on it for me.
Me: Heck. I don't know... haven't really thought about it. I'd planned on keeping this one.
C'mon, just give me a price.
Me: Jeez, I don't know. *pause* I really don't know... how about 4 grand?
Ok, I'll take it.
Me: darn

I started with a 91 Smurf Miata, then an 85 RX7 GS, then a 92 Suzuki Samurai, then a 93 Miata (one of the really rare red ones) and finally with this 88 RX7 Convertible.

Besides, I've still got to finish my 65 Chevy C20 truck and sell it to get something that will hold a baby seat. We're expecting in mid-June.

Gracie joined us last year for MATG at just shy of 2 months old.

I sold the RX7 to get something big enough to haul around an infant carrier and now that Gracie is in a regular toddler seat, got rid of it for something a little sportier.

We're back to a 3 Mazda family again.

Here's the 2 baby haulers:
Missy's on the left, and mine on the right

And here's the play toy:

It will be just Missy and I this year. The Miata will make an appearance this year at MATG.

About time too! Interesting mirrors, I'll bet you get a great view out of them and I like the wheels.

Welcome Back to the Miata family, Josh!

That's a pretty good looking NA. Can't wait to see it in person.
